Arts and Culture WordPress Theme – Responsive & Loaded with Options

Arts and Culture theme is clean, responsive, and powerful. Start an online magazine today!

What site are you working on next? If you’re starting an online magazine in the arts and culture space, then you may want to use our aptly named – Arts & Culture – theme.

We’ve been going back and forth on various features and the end result is a sleek, responsive theme loaded with options. The real driver behind this theme was to offer a magazine that was on par with the big sites across the web in both style and features.

It’s built for creative and image-heavy sites with content in the following areas:

  • Art
  • Fashion / Celebrity / Gossip
  • Music
  • Technology
  • Gear (gadgets and stuff)
  • Niche news sites

It was inspired by several forum users’ requests, as well as some of the top sites on the web. We looked into what works and what doesn’t. That gave us a long list of must-have features to bake into the theme. These include the following:

No matter the screen size – laptop, tablet, or mobile phone – your site will look great.

Post Templates

You’re not going to find this in every theme. Arts & Culture comes equipped with multiple post templates. You can decide exactly what layout a post should have. Here are examples of post layouts:

Category Templates

If you’ve used our previous newspaper themes, then you’re already familiar with category templates. With Arts & Culture, you can choose from 6 category templates. Don’t let the standard list of archives bore your visitors – mix it up and get a truly dynamic website:

Page Templates

Have high expectations? Since we already packed this theme with post templates and category templates, it’s only fitting to include a handful of page templates. Check them out on the demo.

All The Little Things Matter

I could go on and on about all the features, but this would become a long and wordy post. So let me just reinforce that we considered all the little details that you won’t find in other themes. These include the following:

  • Multiple header styles (demo displays 1 of 4 possible header styles).
  • Google Authorship ready – Our author badges are coded to meet Google’s recommendations.
  • Related Posts – eliminate another plugin! We got you covered.
  • Fully Widgetized – The entire home page is widgetized, as well as archive pages and inner-page sidebars.
  • Category Descriptions – Write an unique, keyword-rich description for each category for better SEO.
  • Shortcodes – need some additional styling to spice up that article, use shortcodes!
  • and many more finer points that make this theme worth every penny.

Thanks WGL! We’ve been hashing away at this theme for quite a while. Glad to finally release it.

I love it! I would love this too…..if I’ve already committed ad space on top at 468 x 90, how can I reconfigure? I need to find a way to get more ads on here!

    • Charlie Patel   May 31, 2012 at 2:49 AM

Thanks Sharon! To answer your question – With 4 header styles, one of the header styles replaces that Search Bar with exactly a 468×60 banner spot. So it’s already built-in. 🙂

You keep getting better and better. I’m tempted to switch over to this one.

    • Charlie Patel   May 31, 2012 at 2:52 AM

Thanks Paul! We’re definitely trying to always step up our game here based on how site owners really manage their sites and what they need.

I second the previous comments. The design would make a beautiful urban magazine. (Particular kudos on the category designs; they are the heart of a magazine and you’ve found just the right touch.) I’ve been looking for the perfect WordPress design to adopt, and this one makes the choice easier.

    Great looking theme.

I am very interested in trying it as a travel magazine but is it possible to replace the orange with red?

    Great work guys 🙂

Brilliant! Build a Responsive version of NewsPro, Advanced Newspaper and CityDesk (but start with NewsPro, please) and I’ll buy a new set of licences for all three. In a heartbeat.

    Great work Gabfire!

Excellent work again! Great design and functionality. I think it’s the best one so far 🙂

    • Mehmet Ozek   June 4, 2012 at 7:20 PM

Yes Juz, using admin -> appearance -> background section; you can add any custom background for the theme.

  14. Patricio   June 4, 2012 at 5:27 PM

Is there a video template like in other Gab themes?

    • Mehmet Ozek   June 4, 2012 at 7:21 PM

Yes Patricio, you can use this category template for multimedia entries.

  15. Nicholas Gill   June 4, 2012 at 8:15 PM

Are social media buttons (like Google +, Facebook Like, Tweet, etc) already built in to add on the tops and bottoms of every post? I don’t see them in the demo anywhere.

    • Mehmet Ozek   June 4, 2012 at 8:33 PM

Social links are a built-in framework function Nicholas available across all our themes including Arts and Culture too.

  16. Ralph   June 4, 2012 at 8:23 PM

    • Mehmet Ozek   June 4, 2012 at 8:34 PM
